By Alex Katson, Huskies Wire: The Washington Huskies have finally gotten a big win on the recruiting trail on the defensive line.
Four-star defensive lineman Tufanua Ionatana “TI” Umu-Cais committed to the Huskies on Saturday after a heated recruiting battle that came down to Washington, UCLA, whose efforts were led by former Huskies assistant Ikaika Malloe, and North Carolina. The Bruins have been a consistent thorn in Washington’s side while recruiting the 2026 defensive line, as Malloe coaxed David Schwerzel, one of the top in-state recruits of the cycle, to commit to the Bruins earlier this summer.
