By Brandon Judd, Deseret News: Utah’s Byrd Ficklin made quite the impression with his first collegiate career start last Saturday in a 53-7 win over Colorado.
As a result, the Utes’ true freshman quarterback earned a pair of Big 12 weekly awards Monday.
Ficklin not only was named Big 12 Freshman of the Week, he also shared Big 12 Co-Offensive Player of the Week honors with Houston quarterback Conner Weigman.
