By Matt Zemek, Trojans Wire: Wednesday’s explosive yet unsurprising events — the Big 12 crying foul at ESPN, the AAC trying to poach Big 12 schools — add to the collective absurdity in college sports, which is stacked higher than Mount Everest at this point.
This appalling situation, in which a cable television network is calling more shots in collegiate athletics than the NCAA, comes after years of NCAA stonewalling and delay tactics on NIL reforms the organization viewed as the end of the world, as though the sanctity of amateur athletics needed to be preserved at all costs.
