Entering the NCAA tournament’s Elite Eight, though, UCLA’s Mick Cronin — ranked No. 18, according to USA Today’s 2021 NCAA basketball coach pay database, updated March 9 — is the highest-paid coach remaining at $3.6 million.
The list’s top two, Kentucky’s John Calipari ($8 million) and Duke’s Mike Krzyzewski ($7 million), did not make the NCAA tournament. Shortly behind Cronin, Baylor’s Scott Drew ($3.35 million) is ranked No. 20.
