By Austin Curtright, USA TODAY: Tulane football wore all-green uniforms with blank green helmets on Saturday, Aug. 30, to recognize the 20-year anniversary of Hurricane Katrina, the devastating storm that hit New Orleans and the surrounding area in 2005.
Green Wave coach Jon Sumrall said the program was set to honor the victims even further, but Tulane’s request to Northwestern to wear white jerseys — which is what the program wore in its first game after Katrina — was declined.
