By Berry Tramel, The Oklahoman: The San Diego Padres were introducing starting lineups Saturday evening when, 1,468 miles away in Houston, Lamont Butler’s jumpshot floated into the air.
And when Butler’s shot swished, giving San Diego State a 73-72 thriller over Florida Atlantic in the Final Four, the Padre crowd back at Petco Park erupted.
