Duck Territory: From the moment he set foot on the Oregon campus, Mario Cristobal has preached competition. Over the past two seasons, it’s became clear that those weren’t just words. Player after player after player praised how intense the practices have been as players jockeyed for position on a moving depth chart.
And, so it goes without saying that this fall will be more of the same.
This fall camp will feature arguably more position battles than in an average year. The COVID-19 pandemic has delayed these battles. There were just four spring practices to get a jump start on these decisions. Not only that, but the four recent opt outs have created additional positions without clear cut starters.
