By Brian Pedersen, Arizona Desert Swarm: Dating back to the Dick Tomey days, Hawaii has been a fertile recruiting ground for Arizona. The push to return to those Polynesian roots was restarted by Jedd Fisch and continued by the current coaching staff, with six players on the 2025 roster who grew up or played football in Hawaii.
None may be more connected to the Wildcats’ season opening opponent than Ka’ena Decambra, who spent four seasons with Hawaii before transferring to the UA in the offseason. He played in 30 games for the Rainbow Warriors, making 23 starts.
