Sellout expected for Gonzaga’s first appearance at WSU men’s hoops since 2015

By Jamey Vinnick, Cougfan: One of the most anticipated Washington State men’s basketball games in recent memory is upon us, as the Cougars will host Gonzaga on Wednesday at 6 p.m. on ESPN2. It is the first time since December 2015 that the Bulldogs will be in Pullman. Until this season, that was the last of the annual meetings between the collegiate neighbors.

WSU’s last victory against the Zags was in Pullman in 2010 when a junior guard named Klay Thompson flirted with a quadruple-double, turning in 24 points, seven steals, six rebounds, and six assists in front of 10,177 fired-up fans. David Riley was a senior at Whitworth at the time and young Isaiah Watts was scampering around the house in purple and gold.
