How many round-trip air miles will Arizona, Arizona State, Colorado, and Utah have to travel to play fellow Big 12-member schools in coming years?

We’ve put together a table showing the round-trip distances from Tucson, Phoenix, Denver (the airport used for Boulder), and Salt Lake City to the airports closest to each school the former Pac-12 programs will play in the coming seasons.

In each case, a charter/direct flight is assumed. Where a team flies commercial, additional miles may be incurred through stopovers. Remember, too, that these numbers don’t include driving miles from the airport to the venue.

Also, as with Boulder-based Colorado teams, which fly out of Denver International, the closest airport isn’t always in the home school’s city.

For example, when traveling to Iowa State, located in Ames, IA, the closest airport is Des Moines International Airport, some 40 miles away. BYU and Utah both fly out of Salt Lake City.

Below the table, you’ll find a list of the best gameday airports to fly into for each Big 12 school.
