This recipe may not be a favorite beyond fans of the Washington Huskies, but there’s no doubting its nutritional value.
According to to beat writer Mike Vorel of the Seattle Times, the smoothie known as “Purple Reign” is regularly made available to UW players after practices.
A sign attached to the table on which the smoothies were recently placed states that a serving contains 24 grams of protein, 49 grams of carbs, and 7 grams of fat for a total of 342 calories.
Here is how to make the refreshing drink.
Ingredients & Instructions
6 oz milk
2 oz cherry juice
2 tbsp avocado
1/4 c Greek yogurt
1 scoop vanilla protein powder
1/3 c frozen blueberries
1/4 c frozen pineapple
2 tsp honey
Place all ingredients in a powerful blender and blend until completely combined, smooth and creamy.
