Pac-12’s FY24 tax return reflects conference’s turbulent unraveling

By Daniel Libit, Sportico: The Pac-12’s final fiscal year as a dozen-member league was as chaotic for the conference as it was lucrative for its outside attorneys.

According to its newly filed tax returns, obtained by Sportico, the conference generated $566.6 million in revenue during fiscal year 2024—a turbulent period marked by mass defections, high-stakes litigation and the near-extinction of the century-old league. Those total earnings, according to a Pac-12 spokesperson, were offset by “financial adjustments” stemming from a decade of receiving tens of millions of dollars of overpayments from distribution partner Comcast, one of multiple dramas that consumed the conference this past cycle.
