POSITION: Running Back
HEIGHT: 5-10
WEIGHT: 201
CLASS: Junior
HOME TOWN: Antioch, Calif.
HIGH SCHOOL: Bishop O’Dowd H.S.

Stanford’s best returning offensive player, Austin Jones has established himself as an explosive rusher and dependable receiver out of the backfield.

The junior started all six games in 2020, racking up 550 yards and nine touchdowns—the second-most nationally for teams that played six games or fewer—and pulled in 21 receptions for 156 yards.

Jones made a big splash in his first career start against No. 12 Oregon on Nov. 7, rushing for 100 yards and two touchdowns on 20 carries. He did even more damage on the ground against Oregon State (126 yards) and Washington (138).

A 4-star prospect out of high school and the No. 7 back in the 2019 Class, Jones was a rotational player for the Cardinal as a freshman, but still managed to gain 335 yards rushing and receiving on just 59 touches.

With star wideout Simi Fehoko gone to the NFL, the fast and active playmaker from Antioch, Calif., figures to take on an even bigger role in 2021.

And given a full season to show off his skills, don’t be surprised to see Jones put up some eye-popping numbers.
