Oregon State’s Avery Roberts

POSITION: Inside Linebacker
HEIGHT: 6-1
WEIGHT: 233
CLASS: Redshirt Junior
HOME TOWN: Wilmington, Del.
HIGH SCHOOL: Concord H.S.
Oregon State’s Avery Roberts broke his arm in the second-to-last game of 2020, and his coaches and fellow Beavers couldn’t be happier to have him back and on the mend.
Roberts led the Pac-12 last season with 69 tackles, including a career-high 21 against Utah. With Hamilcar Rashed in the NFL, OSU will need the redshirt junior to be hungry and healthy in 2021.
An All-Pac-12 First Team selection in the pandemic-shortened 2020 season, he originally committed to Nebraska out of high school, playing in all 12 games as a true freshman in 2017.
After sitting out the 2018 season due to the NCAA transfer rules at the time, he made an immediate impact at Oregon State, logging 83 tackles, with 51 of them solo.
Another year at OSU will boost Jonathan Smith’s rebuilding process, and should only make Roberts more attractive to NFL scouts.
