By Brandon Marcello, 247Sports: One glance at this week’s schedule elicits a quick, shortsighted response: “It’s a weak week.”
However, that’s not necessarily the case. If we were in the era of a 12-team playoff field, this would particularly be a strong week. The only nationally-ranked showdowns this week are in the Pac-12, and those teams are seemingly in no man’s land as playoff contenders. Only USC, it appears, has a shot at reaching the playoff (and the one-loss Trojans would need help to get there).
