By Erik Skopil, Duck Territory: The 30-3 deficit Oregon faced at halftime all but sealed its fate in Wednesday’s Alamo Bowl, but the team showed more fight and resolve in the second 30 minutes than it had in two second halves of embarrassing defeats against Utah.
While the Ducks still fell to No. 16 Oklahoma by a score of 47-32, Oregon sophomore safety Verone McKinley III credited interim head coach Bryan McClendon for bringing “the fire” in the locker room.
