Duck Territory: Oregon will be searching for a new Director of Player Personnel after the person serving in the role since 2018 has announced a career change. Former Oregon Director of Player Personnel Thomas Arends posted on his Twitter page that after 12 years of working in football including eleven of those at Oregon, he would be moving away from football.
The off-field assistant has been responsible for Oregon’s NFL relations as well as working on recruiting operations for the past three seasons under Mario Cristobal. In 2017, Arends spent one season under Matt Rhule at Baylor. Arends had served as Mark Helfrich’s Director of Recruiting Operations and High School Relations in 2016 after beginning his career as a student intern with the program in 2009.
