Oregon falls flat in Rose Bowl as Ohio State rolls on to semifinals

By Dan Smalley, Ducks Wire: Nobody thought the Rose Bowl would be like this. Not Ohio State, not the oddsmakers and certainly not the Oregon Ducks.

The Buckeyes dominated the Ducks on both sides of the ball and walked out of Pasadena with a 41-21 win over Oregon and into the College Football Playoff semifinals where Texas awaits in the Cotton Bowl. The Ducks’ season is officially over.

Oregon was never really in this game as Ohio State scored the first 31 points of the game. By the time the Ducks found their footing on offense, the contest was out of hand.
