Opposition from Michigan, USC pauses $2.4B Big Ten private equity deal

By Dan Wetzel and Pete Thamel, ESPN: A private capital plan that would have infused $2.4 billion into Big Ten athletic departments has been paused in the face of opposition from league members Michigan and USC.

UC Investments, which is tied to the pension fund of the University of California, announced Monday that it would wait for “unity” among conference schools before proceeding.
