New Mexico's Eddie Nunez agrees to become Houston's new athletic director

By ESPN Staff: Eddie Nunez has agreed to a five-year deal to become athletic director at the University of Houston, the school announced Saturday.

Nunez will leave the University of New Mexico for the Cougars and the Big 12 Conference. He was named the Lobos’ athletic director in 2017, and his title was changed to include vice president in 2021.

Houston hires New Mexico's Nunez as Cougars' AD

Eddie Nunez, New Mexico's athletic director since 2017 following a basketball career at Florida, agreed to a five-year contract to take the same position at Houston on Saturday, two weeks before the Cougars open the football season against UNLV.
