By Chris Murray, Nevada Sports News: After years of lagging financial and community support, Nevada athletics is launching an ambitious plan to invest $50 million into Wolf Pack football over the next 10 years to try and elevate the program that was once its flagship enterprise.
During an invitation-only “Nevada Football Summit” held Tuesday night at Western Nevada Supply that welcomed around 85 of the Wolf Pack’s biggest supporters, athletic director Stephanie Rempe and first-year football coach Jeff Choate outlined why this investment is required, how it would be funded and what it could do not only for Nevada athletics but also Northern Nevada’s community.
“I’m here to make Nevada win again,” Choate told the Wolf Pack supporters. “We’re not asking you to do this for us. We’re asking you to do this with us.”
