Nevada coach Jeff Choate calls 2026 a crucial ‘hump year’ for the Wolf Pack

By Chris Murray, Nevada Sports Net: Last week, Nevada football coach Jeff Choate held a press conference to announce the Wolf Pack’s 2026 transfer class and updated coaching staff for the upcoming season. What ensued was a 45-minute press conference where Choate touched upon a number of subjects. Among those, Choate discussed the importance of Nevada’s 2026 season with the Wolf Pack going 6-19 overall and 2-13 in Mountain West play during his first two years.

In 2026, Nevada will be in a new-look MW, which loses the lion’s share of its top football programs with the departures of Boise State, San Diego State, Utah State, Fresno State and Colorado State to the Pac-12.
