It is a subjective list with no true way of measuring the intensity or atmosphere of each venue. Wins obviously matter most, especially against ranked opponents. However, a combination of crowd energy, historical dominance and the magnitude of games all play a role in deciphering a true home-field advantage.
To be included on the list of toughest stadium environments for the 2025 season, teams must boast strong home records, particularly against AP Top 25 opponents in recent years. In these stadium environments, visiting teams often find themselves up against more than just the opponent on the field. Few escape these college football stadiums unscathed.
