MW+ gives Mountain West a new streaming home, but value depends on execution

June 30, 2026

By Scarlet Standard Media: The Mountain West’s new streaming platform is not just another app. It is part of the conference’s larger media strategy at a time when the league is trying to rebuild its identity, stabilize its membership and create new revenue opportunities after another major round of realignment.

MW+ is scheduled to launch July 1 and will become the streaming home for Mountain West events that are not shown on national linear television. That includes 21 football games, select men’s and women’s basketball games and a large portion of the conference’s Olympic sports inventory. The conference has said the platform will carry more than 1,000 live events annually, giving the Mountain West a centralized digital home for games that previously lived on the free Mountain West Network app or were harder for fans to consistently find.

The pricing is now one of the most important pieces of the rollout. MW+ will offer an annual subscription for $79.99 and a monthly subscription for $10.99. The conference is also offering a 20% discount for email subscribers, which lowers the annual price to $63.99 for the 2026-27 athletic year. Broken down monthly, that discounted annual rate comes out to roughly $5.33 per month.
