By Chris Murray, Nevada Sports Net: The Mountain West on Thursday filed its answers and counterclaims related to the Pac-12 lawsuit over the the $55 million in poaching penalties the latter owes the former after raiding the conference last fall.
The answers and counterclaims were originally due Oct. 14 but earlier this month was extended to Oct. 23. The MW said the “termination fees at issue are valid, lawful and enforceable” while claiming the Pac-12 had breached its contract and committed promissory fraud, meaning it signed an agreement it never intended to fulfill.
