The SEC and commissioner Greg Sankey recently announced that going forward they will continue playing an eight-game conference schedule.

This comes despite some pressure to move to a nine-game schedule like the Big Ten, Big 12, and Pac-12 all play.

The move raises questions about power brokers in college sports and how the sport should proceed across all conferences.
