Commissioner George Kliavkoff’s opening remarks set a very clear tone for how he feels during the speculation about the potential demise of the Big 12—he’s frustrated by it and is going to do everything he can to keep the conference of champions together.
And he addressed other issues in his remarks and Q&A as well.
In today’s episode of Locked On Pac-12, I break down the much-anticipated media day appearances in Los Angeles for the Pac-12 in wake of conference realignment talks.
Kliavkoff went on to make a statement about NIL, and it’s reasonable for teams and conferences to want to put up some regulations and rules in this new world of college football in that realm.

He was also asked about the impending media rights deals negotiations, which continue to be a complicated set of circumstances to deal with given that they’re considering expansion. What might a timeline be for announcements on that front?
I conclude by answering a mailbag question reacting to Pac-12 Football media days.
The conference’s next move should be aggressively pursuing and evaluating expansion options to keep the conference alive and viable.
However, right now the feeling with regards to how likely it is the conference stays intact have not changed at this time.
