Utah Football came into 2022 with their highest-ever preseason ranking and aspirations of reaching the College Football Playoff, something the Pac-12 has been left out of since 2017 when Washington made it under Chris Petersen.

Now that the Utes have begun 0-1 losing to previously unranked Florida, the path to the Pac-12 having one of the final 4 teams at the end of the year seems even less likely.

Does any hope remain for a Pac-12 team to reach the playoff this year?

On today’s episode of Locked On Pac-12, I’m joined by the host of ‘Locked On Utes’, JT Wistrcill.

We go through possible scenarios that could see a Pac-12 team return to the playoff, which is not out of the realm of possibility for the Utah Utes.

Is it too early to discuss USC as a CFP contender in 2022 under Lincoln Riley after an impressive week 1 showing against Rice?

Utah’s loss against the Florida Gators in Gainesville was no doubt disappointing, especially considering the Utes were ranked #7 and favored going into the game.

The outcome was a disaster, but the way the game played out should remind people that Utah is still a favorite in the Pac-12.

We go through Saturday’s contest to illustrate why and discuss other Pac-12 headlines from the weekend.
