Week 7 of the college football season is here.

After another bizarre week in the Mountain West Conference, San Jose State jumped to No. 1 in the Power Rankings.

However, with the way things have gone this year, it wouldn’t be surprising to see the Spartans lose and drop down a bit next week.

Who knows what will happen any given week?

Let’s get into the MWC mini previews and predictions with five games scheduled for the weekend.

Utah State at Colorado State

Saturday, October 15
4:00 p.m., CBS Sports

The two teams in this game have a combined record of 3-8, albeit with both teams coming off victories in Week 6.

Believe it or not, with that being said, let’s roll with the Colorado State Rams getting their second win of the season in a nail-biter.

Prediction: Colorado State 21, Utah State 20

New Mexico at New Mexico State

Saturday, October 15
5:00 p.m., FloSports

T

he Lobos have played decent football this season despite a 2-4 record.

New Mexico State has just one win, against Hawai’i, and the Aggies don’t beat the Lobos despite it being a home game.

New Mexico gets its third win of the season and some momentum heading into a tough matchup with Fresno State next week.

Prediction: New Mexico 24, New Mexico State 14

Air Force at UNLV

Saturday, October 15
7:30 p.m., CBS Sports

UNLV fell flat against San Jose State last weekend in Las Vegas and now they get a difficult matchup against Air Force.

On top of that, the Falcons should be even more motivated after losing to Utah State. And the rushing attack in Air Force is no match for Marcus Arroyo’s team.

Prediction: Air Force 30, UNLV 24

San Jose State at Fresno State

Saturday, October 15
7:45 p.m., FS1

It’s Homecoming Week for the Bulldogs, and it comes against a dangerous Spartans team.

The Bulldogs got good news as Jake Haener was seen throwing at practice, but he still won’t be ready to play this weekend.

Nonetheless, the Bulldogs are 1-4 and don’t have a shot on paper.

On the other hand, San Jose State has to play in the Valley, in front of a sold-out crowd, and Jeff Tedford’s team pulls off a huge upset.

Prediction: Fresno State 30, San Jose State 24

Nevada at Hawai’i

Saturday, October 15
9:00 p.m., Nevada Sports Net

Is this real life? Yes, yes it is.

Hawai’i isn’t a very good team, but Nevada is fresh off a loss to previously-winless Colorado State, and traveling across the Pacific to face the Rainbow Warriors is never easy.

Hawai’i wins its second game of the year, and the Wolfpack end up as one of the worst teams in the MWC.

Prediction: Hawai’i 23, Nevada 21
