Pizza. Beer. The Bruins’ roster pulled up on his cellphone.

During the game’s first series, the lifelong fan saw No. 15 on the UCLA defense surge into the Nevada Las Vegas backfield. Morales wondered about the identity of this fast, feisty edge rusher and looked him up.

A bad team is bad enough, but not knowing many of the UCLA players leads to an even emptier feeling for fans struggling to stay interested in the Bruins.
