By Carter Bahns, 247Sports: USC head coach Lincoln Riley made history at the 2024 NFL Draft when he became the first college football coach in the common-draft era to produce three different No. 1 overall picks.
His quarterback, Caleb Williams, was the first player off the board at Thursday’s event and now joins the Chicago Bears as their signal-caller of the future. Williams follows former Oklahoma quarterbacks Baker Mayfield and Kyler Murray as Riley-coached QBs to be selected with the first overall pick.
