By Connor Morrissette, USCFootball.com: Even with a returning starting quarterback in Jayden Maiava, USC is in the midst of a quarterback competition this spring. Lincoln Riley made that clear ahead of spring camp.
“No matter who comes back or however you do it, there always has to be competition,” Riley said in March. “And so yeah, there’ll be a competition this spring. No question.”
The Trojans have three scholarship quarterbacks on the roster in Maiava, true freshman Husan Longstreet and veteran transfer Sam Huard.
