USC took Howard Jones Field for its first practice of fall camp Wednesday. Now there’s only 26 practices standing between the Trojans and the August 30 opener against Missouri State. Once the pads come on, all eyes will be on the line of scrimmage. USC’s much-anticipated defensive line goes up against an offensive line in flux. Day 1’s agenda was more about team-wide conditioning and discipline. Head coach Lincoln Riley was very pleased with how his team checked those boxes the first day out of the gate.
“Great, great first day,” Riley said. “Thought the staff, guys really attacked it. Was really impressed with the conditioning level [and] discipline of the team coming out of the summer. Guys came in in shape, ready to go.”
