By Jamey Vinnick, CougFan: Washington State’s offense went to sleep down the stretch and the result was another frustrating Cougars defeat on Wednesday, a 64-61 setback to New Mexico State.
The Cougars led by as many as 18 early in the second half but scored just 17 points over the final 17:00. After the game, head man Kyle Smith said “we played a little tentatively,” and Cougfan.com asked if right now the Cougs (7-4/1-1) lack toughness and grit.
