By Erik Skopil, Duck Territory: Oregon’s focus on special teams has been impossible to miss this spring. The team opens every practice with a five-minute period devoted to some aspect of it; from kickoff returns to punt coverage to up-backs working on fielding squib kicks.
The team also conducts a special teams walk-through each morning prior to start of workouts, special teams coordinator Joe Lorig says, as well as 15 additional situational minutes later in practice.
