By Jamey Vinnick, CougFan: If you’ve been waiting on pins and needles for Washington State to announce its starting quarterback, there’s a date to circle, just not the one WSU fans were hoping for. Cougfan.com asked Jimmy Rogers after practice on Thursday how close he was to determining the starter and Rogers said, with a smile, that when the decision does get made, there will be no official statement.
“It’s getting closer and closer,” Rogers said. “But you guys won’t know. I’ll never tell you, you’re gonna see it on game day. There’s a battle continuing to happen, and I’m proud of the guys as far as their maturity and how they’ve handled it, and we’ll see how it shakes out.”
