By Trevor Booth, Sun Devil Source: After Arizona State finished its disappointing 2020-21 season in the quarterfinal round of the Pac-12 Tournament last month, its coach, Bobby Hurley, felt “exhausted.” But perhaps more than that, he was gutted.
The Sun Devils’ path from a preseason AP Top 25 ranking to a record below .500 drained those around the program, especially Hurley. Tears fell from his eyes last month as he recapped ASU’s season, one that began with promise but was stripped repeatedly of it by injuries, COVID-19 related setbacks and chemistry issues.
