By José M. Romero, Arizona Republic: The annual college football bowl game in Phoenix in December has a new name. It’s a shortened version of the previous sponsor of the game.
Formerly known as the Guaranteed Rate Bowl, the Rate Bowl features a matchup of top Big Ten and Big 12 teams at Chase Field, home of the Arizona Diamondbacks.
Major mortgage lending and financial services company Guaranteed Rate has rebranded to “Rate,” hence the new name for the bowl game.
