By Chris Murray, Nevada Sports Net: When Gloria Nevarez was hired as the Mountain West’s commissioner in January 2023, she was warned some schools were trying to flee the league.

“When I first started in ’23, there was talk of schools wanting to go to the Pac-12 before the legacy Pac-12 imploded,” Nevarez told the Big Business on Campus podcast this week. “So, that had been an aspiration of several schools regardless of what was going on in the ecosystem to be affiliated with that brand.”
