By Jackson Payne, Deseret News: BYU quarterback McCae Hillstead intends to enter the transfer portal upon its opening on Jan. 2, according to a Monday report from Blair Angulo of 247 Sports.
Hillstead arrived at BYU prior to the 2024 campaign, appearing in four games as Bear Bachmeier’s backup in 2025.
The Springville, Utah, native and Skyridge High product began his college career at Utah State in 2023, where he threw for 1,062 yards and 11 touchdowns in eight games with the Aggies.
