By Geoffrey C. Arnold, OregonLive:Â Alex Smith, who made a remarkable comeback from a devastating leg injury in 2020, announced his retirement from the NFL. The quarterback announced the end of his 16-year career on Instagram Monday morning.
Smith, 36, staged a miraculous comeback in 2020 after he suffered a life-threatening leg injury while playing for the Washington Football Team in 2018.
