By Garrett Stepien, 247Sports: Former UCLA head men’s soccer coach Jorge Salcedo was sentenced to eight months in prison after profiting off a $200,000 bribery scheme that helped student applicants be admitted into the university under the guise of athletic recruits. The Associated Press reported Friday in Boston that Salcedo told U.S. District Judge Indira Talwani that he participated in the college admissions ploy after purchasing a house his family could not afford.
