By Brad Crawford, 247Sports: The New York Jets wavered this offseason on what to do with former first-round pick Sam Darnold, ultimately choosing this week to send him to the Carolina Panthers and go all-in on a quarterback with the No. 2 overall pick in the NFL Draft. The numbers weren’t there for Darnold in New York, but one former coach says there was a way the team could’ve rectified the situation and helped him.
