Ducks expected to promote Mehringer and Hampton to vacated coordinator roles

By Erik Skopil, Duck Territory: In a whirlwind of coaching moves, Oregon hasn’t wasted time in zeroing in on its two vacated coordinating positions. According to reports from CBS Sports’ Matt Zenitz, the Ducks are expected to promote Drew Mehringer to offensive coordinator and Chris Hampton to defensive coordinator.

Mehringer will be replacing Will Stein, who left to become Kentucky’s head coach, while Hampton will take over for Tosh Lupoi who was announced as Cal’s new head coach on Thursday.

Oregon is expected to promote from within to replace both outgoing coordinators, per reports. Drew Mehringer is expected to become the new offensive coordinator and Chris Hampton the defensive coordinator.
