By Zachary Neel, Ducks Wire: A report came out on Thursday morning that the College Football Playoff was expected to change the seeding structure for the tournament system starting in the 2025-26 season.
According to Ross Dellenger, the College Football Playoff is expected to adopt a straight-seeding model for this season.
This means there will be no automatic byes for conference champions, and the top 12 teams in the nation will be seeded based on their end-of-year rankings rather than giving the highest-ranked conference champions the top four seeds.
