By Kyle Wood, Athlon Sports: Dan Mullen was out of college football the past three years insofar as his role was as an ESPN analyst rather than a head coach.
He wasn’t far from the game, though, which looks different than it did when he was fired at Florida in 2021. Between the proliferation of the transfer portal, rampant NIL growth and waves of conference realignment, college football keeps changing. Now the head coach at UNLV, Mullen says being in the studio rather than on the sideline in recent years has helped him as he prepares for his first season with the Rebels.
