By Daniel Hager, On3: In what was the highest-scoring game of the College Football Playoff so far, No. 5 Oregon held off No. 12 James Madison 51-34 in Eugene. Although it held a demanding 34-6 at halftime, the Ducks were actually outscored 28-17 in the second half. Their dominant opening half however was good enough to secure the win.
No. 5 Oregon will now begin preparing for its Capital One Orange Bowl (CFP Quarterfinal) matchup against No. 4 Texas Tech on Jan. 1. Both teams head into the game with a 12-1 record, one win away from making the CFP Semifinals.
