By James Crepea, The Oregonian/OregonLive: Makhi Hughes was arguably the most prominent transfer to join Oregon this offseason. He was the fifth running back to see the field for the Ducks in their season opener though, leading to curiosity and concern from fans as to why the preseason AP All-American did not have a more prominent role.
Hughes had just one carry for two yards and one catch for four yards over 12 plays in UO’s 59-13 win over Montana State.
