By Charlie Strella, Buffaloes Wire: A beloved, but also polarizing era of Colorado football has come to a close. Ralphie VI, the live buffalo mascot known as “Ember,” has officially retired after four seasons leading the Buffaloes onto the field, the university announced Tuesday.
The buffalo, nicknamed “Ember,” first ran onto Folsom Field in 2021 as a 15-month-old calf. Over the next few seasons, she became a fixture at football games, but her runs never lived up to what Colorado fans have come to expect from previous Ralphie’s.
