By Sam Marsdale, 247Sports: USC got an unfortunate break this week when redshirt sophomore starting nickel back Max Williams suffered a torn ACL in practice, first reported by 247Sports’ USC affiliate USCFootball.com. Speaking with the media Saturday morning, Clay Helton officially ruled him out for the season.
Williams’ injury creates some depth issues for the Trojans this spring. With Greg Johnson also out, USC is working with fifth-year senior Isaiah Pola-Mao and junior Britton Allen at nickel.
